We had a couple of vet visits this week. Mr. Chance had his intake vet visit, and got his cherry eye checked out. He got a clean bill of health. He’s a sturdy if battered old man though our vet is mildly concerned that he may have protein uptake issues.
Our other vet visit was Miss Bella. The ringer of Hell’s Bells did not get a clean bill of health unfortunately. I had noticed that her heart sounded slushy when she slept up against my head and suspected that Bella was suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy. As much as I hate to be correct, she does indeed have DCM. It’s a severe case, severe enough that when she breathes deeply her heart stops. We’ve begun medication and supplements to do as much as we can to keep her comfortable for as long as possible. Her medication will cost about $70 a month (Vetmedin, Lasix .and a canine heart support supplement).
If you would like to assist us, we can use vet funding, and dog food. Our largest needs for dog food are: 80 lbs of Diamond Naturals Beef and Rice, 100 lbs of cheap dog food, and Bella tinned dog food.
